Our Motto:
“I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving—we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it—but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.” Oliver Wendell Holmes
Our Mission:
Our mission is to help schools grow, to problem solve and achieve results. Literacy Based Solutions LLC is a company that is committed to building a community that fosters engagement among students and teachers that will lead to cultivated high achieving students. Through strategic planning we want teachers to be inspired to work harder for their students. We believe that teachers and administrators are lifelong learners who can instill that willingness into their students.
Our Founder
Angela Roberson is the founder of Literacy Based Solutions LLC. She is an independent educational consultant and professional developer who specializes in growing a team that is uniquely focused on the importance of engagement and learning of the future. She began her career as a paraprofessional and then became an English teacher. She was very instrumental in making improvements to the writing workshop program. Her innovative ideas of infusing technology and real-world experiences into the curriculum helped to improve student achievement leading to improved data. Angela retired after spending the last ten of her twenty-seven-year career as a high school administrator. Her experiences make her well versed on the challenges of education. She strives to foster the importance of engagement by connecting technology, curriculum and pedagogy to the school community. Primarily, her goal is to connect how teachers teach to how students learn by instilling a hands-on approach that creates a habit of mind thought process that is learning centered with job embedded experiences. She works closely with teachers and administrators to facilitate workshops that center around how the professional development of innovative practices support the standards, data and vision of the school. Her areas of expertise include curriculum planning, differentiated instruction, team building and leadership development.
